In 2012/2013, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) hired our services to train Artificial Insemination Technicians as well as to upgrade about 5,000 cows in some selected areas. The Artificial Insemination (AI) Trainings were conducted in five (5) states and the FCT of the Federation namely; Adamawa, Nasarawa, FCT (Gwagwalada), Kaduna, Niger and Oyo under the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA) of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD); Five (5) participants in each state ( a total of 30 participants from the 5 targeted states and FCT) benefited from the trainings.
The aim of the training was to build a follow-up structure that will ensure the sustainability of cattle upgrading through AI at the local levels.
Similarly, NASRUN Nig. Ltd inseminated about 5,000 cows under the same ATA Programme which covered the 5 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The insemination exercise focused on commercial farms, peri-urban farms and pastoralists.
